Hollywood Star Lanes, a 32-lane bowling alley located at 5227 Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, opened its doors in 1960. Known for its Googie-style architecture, it became a popular spot for both casual bowlers and league enthusiasts. The alley gained cinematic fame as a primary filming location for the 1998 cult classic The Big Lebowski, where it served as the central hangout for the film s main characters. Despite its cultural significance, Hollywood Star Lanes was closed in 2002 after the Los Angeles Unified School District acquired the property to build Kingsley Elementary School.
