Description

The Hacienda Hotel and Casino opened on October 17, 1956, on the Las Vegas Strip. Known for its distinctive horse-and-rider neon sign, it catered to budget-conscious travelers and was the first resort visible to tourists driving from California. In 1974, it was purchased by Allen Glick s Argent Corporation. The Hacienda closed on December 10, 1996, and was demolished later that month to make way for Mandalay Bay.
